What it does

The Forum provides opportunities to develop and share best practice for restorative justice in Scotland.

These include:

  • Holding events and publishing newsletters and papers to promote the development of restorative justice in Scotland and disseminate research and evaluation results to the public and to practitioners
  • Providing feedback on the delivery of the Scottish Government Action Plan and any other statutory mechanisms (following on from the 2017 Guidance), action plans and guidance from statutory or voluntary sector bodies to implement the delivery of high-quality restorative justice
  • Encouraging research and evaluation of restorative justice in Scotland and dissemination of research results internationally, through its Researchers Network
  • Encouraging good practice and continuing professional development through its Practitioners’ Network, whose members are facilitators of restorative justice.
